Description
“Sunset’s foundation is built solidly upon the fact that its pages represent the Far West, always. That is our prime function; when Sunset fails to be Western we hope there will be no more Sunset,” reads the editor’s note in the July 1926 issue. It was written to address the forward-thinking design changes in the issue.
The cover—the subject of this 500-piece puzzle—is definitively Western with its rugged terrain, the fearless man on horseback, and the groundbreaking automobile. To the editors, it represented the “new” West of 1926, where an adventurous spirit and innovation converge. We think that sentiment still rings true today.
